Earl Edwards, Cornell sophomore, selected as business manager of The Cornellian for 1936 37 by the Cornellian Board from nine applicants. An economics major and athlete, he starred in freshman football and wrestling, played as a lineman this year, and wrestled in the 176-pound class. He holds a senior life saving certificate and is active in drama and various campus groups.

Yates to Assist Summer Chemistry Staff at College
James Yates born in 1915 will join the summer chemistry staff after completing a year at Columbia as a Lydia Co. Roberts fellow. He will assist Dr. J B Culbertson in the first term and run the second term independently. He plans to return to Columbia next year to pursue a Doctor's degree under Dr V K LaMere. Yates returns home between May 20 and May 27 and joins duties when summer school opens on June 8.

Mrs Van Etten Wins 10000 Prize For First Novel
Winifred Mayne Van Etten of an Upper Pal cottage won ten thousand dollars for her novel I Am the Box in a national competition run by Atlantic Monthly Press and Little Brown. The award included five thousand dollars in cash and five thousand in advance royalties.
