College aides total 37500 annually for 346 students averaging over 108 each. 77 work on campus earning 10240 a year. 179 receive scholarships totaling 16959. Loans from several funds provide about 17000 more. Distributed aid supports ministers, veterans, and music scholarships.

Alumni Day Pageant Depicts Early Cornell History on Hill

The Alumni Day Pageant, written by Laura Hinkley, retells Cornell history from its founding by Elder Bowman through Civil and Spanish American Wars to present life. Miss Nama Lathe creates the scenic progression from the wooded hilltop to the completed additions as the cast unfolds on June 8 at the Methodist church dining hall.

Northcott Named Head of Cornell Development Council

W H Northcott of New York City is named permanent director of the Cornell Development Council by President Updegraf f. He will begin June 1 and brings extensive YMCA leadership and finance experience. Northcott, brother of John Northcott of Coe College, declined a regional Y M C A finance post in St Louis to accept Cornell’s offer. He now serves on the national YMCA financial staff.

Coe Cornell Dual to Close Meet at the Rapids

Cornell and Coe plan the final 1925 dual meet at the Rapids this Saturday. Coe relies on Dallager the iron man in sprints and field events while Cornell edges in the middle distances led by Barbour and Muilenberg. Relays and close finishes expected as both teams aim for points.

Science Club Movie Night Showings At 6 40 PM

The Science Club continues its weekly film series tonight at 6 40 in the geology lecture room. Two films will be shown: A Trip Through Yellowstone Park featuring park views and other scenes, and The Story of Steel detailing the steel industry. Admission is free.

Chicago Man Becomes Cornell Development Council Chair

O. Pauley of Chicago born 1901 was elected chairman of the Cornell Development Council at an executive committee meeting. He succeeds A. L. Killian and Morris Sanford of Cedar Rapids who had served jointly as chairmen. Pauley, secretary of Great Northern Insurance, brings financial and administrative experience to assist director W. L. Northcott and college leaders in advancing the development program.

Class Teams Revive Old Cornell Diamond

The Cornell baseball diamond once famed for Purple batmen now hosts makeshift games as gym classes play indoor baseball on the field. Last Saturday the Upper Classmen defeated the Lower Classmen, and a next Saturday game is planned between interested class members.

Purple Runners Desert Railroads For Deluxe Ford On Week-End Trip

Five track team members undertook a weekend trip driving a Ford with repairs minor. They left Saturday from Osage Iowa to reach a destination by Saturday evening, resuming after a wheel break and a small repair, finishing the journey by 5 pm Sunday.

Brilliant Success Marks 28th Music Festival Concerts

The 28th annual May Music Festival closed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra performing. Florence Austral John Amadio and Mme Cecile de Horvath highlighted the first two concerts, while Frederick Stock led the orchestra in the remainder. Dvorak New World Symphony and Tschaikowsky Rococo Variations drew acclaim, culminating in Mendelssohn First Walpurgis Night performed by the Cornell Choral Society under E H F Weis.

Changes In Courses For Next Year At College

Registration opens for next year with most students to file proposed courses by May 24 in the college collection office. Changes include split psychology sections by Professor McConnell and Dr Slaght, geology headed by Norton with Thomson assisting, and three geology sections. A three year leave is planned for Van Pelt. The catalog remains largely the same with minor alterations.
