Town State Teachers freshmen track team defeated Little Purple 74 to 57 in a Friday dual meet. Smyre Leads scoring with wins in the mile and two mile and a second in the high jump. Grimes starred in the century and quarter and anchored the relay quartet. Davis posted strong mile and two mile times, tying for first in the two mile.

Pianist Elly Ney Draws Crowds At Carleton College

Internationally famed German pianist Elly Ney delighted Carleton College students on March 7 by performing in the Great Hall. Encores sparked a lunch hour exodus as hundreds gathered to listen, some hiding behind posts, with many missing meals to hear Chopin and Schubert pieces.

The 1930 Cornell yearbook, published by the junior class, was released today with its earliest appearance in years. Editor in chief Carl A. Felt and business manager Robert Gardiner led the staff. faculty advisors included Miss Nama Lathe and Prof F D Merritt. Ruth Hitchcock of Waterloo is named beauty queen along with Marguerite Kohl of Lisbon and Ruth Woessner of Shannon.

Dunlap Lybarger Raffety Named Cornellian Staff Heads

At a Cornellian Board meeting Winton Dunlap of Winthrop was elected editor in chief Opal Lybarger of Panora assistant editor and Basil Raffety of Watertown South Dakota business manager for 1929 30 The trio brings prior journalism and publishing experience with Dunlap serving three years on the staff Lybarger contributing to The Husk and Ollapod and Raffety active in advertising and Iowa College Press Association leadership.

Festival concert entrance and ticket rules

All students must use the west tower entrance for Festival concerts and present both festival and student privilege tickets at the door. Tickets are non transferable and unpresented tickets will be forfeited. Conform to regulations to relieve congestion. guests should use the student entrance with students.

Carleton Tops Cornell in Track Meet

Carleton's track team defeated Cornell 65 to 60 percent Saturday but Norse failed to complete the meet. Cornell won eight events and tied another while Carleton claimed key victories in the high hurdles and high jump and the relay. The meet swung on the mile and baton events with Millard and Swanson staging fast stretches for local contenders.

Cornell College opens its thirty first May Music Festival with tenor Richard Crooks in the Thursday concert.
