Dr Kirby Page to speak on The Way of Power and Joy in lower chapel Tuesday at 7 15 p m as part of a middle west tour by the American Friends Service Committee. Governor Earl Warren will headline Cornell College 97th annual commencement on Monday June 12 at 10 a m with 138 bachelor’s degree candidates.
A schedule of campus events from May 14 to May 19 listing recitals, concerts, lectures, and club meetings. Highlights include Cornell College Band in the chapel, AWS in Dean Fisher's office, UWF in Cole Bin, and the Geology and Sociology clubs in the Cole Bin Palisades and Law rooms.
The Cornell Concert Band directed by John Duckwall will perform on Pfeiffer Lawn on Wednesday at 6 30. The program blends traditional band numbers by Fillmore with lighter tunes including Lady of Spain and A Mighty Fortress with arrangements, Berlioz Grand Symphony for Band, Barnum and Bailey’s Favorite and a promenade.

Eleven candidates were chosen in a chapel primary for the Mid west Conference Track Meet Queen and her attendants. Winners include Diane Biddick from Marion and Carolyn Burns from Lake Park with a final vote due early next week to select the top candidate and four attendants.
Delinda Roggensack, director of Cornell's audio visual aids program, will address Mar tell's PTA dinner on music groups and soloists. Her talk titled What We Hear in Music will start Friday at 6 30 PM.
Cornell Thespians rehearse for the spring production Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew. Performances run June 1 to 3 at 8 15 p m with Lyn Miller as Bianca and Marybelle Ryberg as Katherina, Ric Sanderson as Petruchio.
Publicity directors from various colleges hold the Midwest conference at Cornell. Pat Harmon, sports editor of the Cedar Rapids Gazette, will speak at the Cedar Rapids Country Club dinner. The event follows the day’s meetings at Cornell College in Cedar Rapids.
The Pal Day event features BS Bear's Bums facing the Faculty Flunkies after lunch in Scales Mound Illinois. Lineups include Ralph Harris Bill Walter William Nichols Randall Mathews Nate Williams Wilda Holmstrom Ten Thumbs Duguid and Fleetfoot Lubinsky with Bear Stiles as pitcher. Officials Littell Meade. The game is a senior farewell and will be broadcast by Honest John Wright on the Cornell system.
Lynn Schroeder, editor of the 1950 Royal Purple, says editing the yearbook was a demanding project with long hours begun last summer. Photographers George Henry and William Wallace captured 275 photos across 20 campus trips for 154 of 160 pages, as layout and identification tasks progressed under John Morrow and Bob Christiansen.
