Royal Purple staff and Cedar Rapids Gazette help select 1937 Royal Purple beauty queens by surveying nearly one hundred residents in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City. Two afternoons were needed to break a tight vote for third place while colored enlargements of the contestants were shown in Moniteur studio windows. Results withheld until the Royal Purple release in about two weeks.

Artists Do Work For Stock Gift Honoring Dr Stock
Cornell art students and professors prepared a limited gift book presented to Dr Frederick Stock by President H J Burgstahler after his hundredth appearance with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. The volume features a pen sketch of Stock, a colored orchestra scene on the chapel stage, tulip and lilac drawings, an appreciation by Prof Albert F Johnson, and a Lane poem, all lettered in red and gold and bound in blue leather with Stock's name in gold.

John Klimo To Join Chicago Symphony
John Klimo of Mount Vernon will join the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for the 1988 May Festival concerts after signing for next season. He is the oldest son of Mount Vernon station master and bandman John Klimo. Klimo previously played with the St Louis Symphony and trained under Horace Alden Miller.

Prof Jacques Jolas will present a summer concert series on W E A F New York and NBC beginning in July with ten weekly programs through September. Psychology Meet Discusses Leeper Teaching Methods
Dr. Robert Leeper spoke at the Midwestern Psychological Association on teaching beginning psychology. A 45 minute discussion followed and a symposium was organized with Leeper as chairman to continue the talk. About 40 people attended and a lively two hour discussion followed. Interest was shown in Cornell's new introductory course.
