Faribault Minnesota senior Richard Cross was offered a position with the NBC Opera after an on campus audition last week with George Schick director of the organization. If he accepts Cross will tour as understudy and member of the opera this summer. He has studied with Ruth Pinkerton for four years and had planned to study voice in New York after graduation.

Lieberknecht Award Awarded To Cripps For English Proficiency

Carol Cripps, a Cornell sophomore, receives the Barbara Gail Lieberknecht scholarship of 100 dollars for English proficiency. The award honors Miss Lieberknecht, editor of the Cornellian, who died of rheumatic fever. Mrs. Ernest Lieberknecht of Letts helped establish the prize in 1949. Cripps previously earned a National Methodist scholarship and contributed to the Husk literary magazine.
