Cedar Rapids wins 25 points in annual Interscholastic Track Meet

Cedar Rapids high school topped the meet with 25 points at Ash Park. Marshalltown finished second with 18, West Waterloo third with 15, and Oregon Ill and Newton tied for fourth with 14 each. Two records fell as adverse weather persisted, with Packer of Marshalltown lowering the high hurdles mark to 16.2 seconds and Newton halting the half mile in 1:39.

Cornell Alumna In Movie World

Cornell alumna Laura L. Hinkley wrote the plot for a film titled Every Inch A King produced by Essanay Company of Chicago. The show plays two nights May 10 and 11 with no extra charge beyond the regular admission. Judson J. McKim, class of 1902, recently spoke at Yale Woolsey Hall with former President Taft as a featured speaker.

Miss Brady Reads Entertains With Clever Monologue

The Girl's Glee Club presented When A Woman Packs on Wednesday evening at Cornell. The program impressed with artistic songs and balanced variety from spirited to thoughtful numbers. Director Miss Edna Traxler received well earned credit for steady work and lively interest. Continues on last page.

Institute Meeting Highlights County Teachers Spelling Contest

A division of teachers from Mt. Vernon Lisbon and Bertram townships met yesterday in the college auditorium as part of the county institute. The program included a morning spelling contest and an afternoon address by Homer H Seerley of Iowa State Teachers College Cedar Falls. A broader teacher roundup and Inter scholastic Meet were expected today. Judge John T Moffitt has been named to the Iowa State Historical Society board of curators.

Beverly in Hero Role Big Hurler Comes to Walker's Rescue

In a sunlit game at Donald Diamond Park yesterday Carleton lost 1 to 0 in the first of two. The contest featured sharp fielding with only two errors, and strong pitching from Walker and Tatting. Cornell scored in the fourth as Tatting allowed four safeties before Byerly relieved Walker in the ninth.

Cornell Invitation to High School Graduates
