Pianist Lympany Opens Second Cornell Festival Program
Pianist Moura Lympany presents the second program of Cornell's sixty second May Music Festival in King Chapel tonight at 8 15 pm. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra under Walter Hendl joins the Oratorio Society tomorrow afternoon at 2 15 for Brahms German Requiem. Among works performed are Mozart Chopin Liszt Brahms Beethoven and Brahms Variations with soloists Mrs Vasile Venettozzi and Louis Sadler. Donald Gramm opened the festival last night with American songs.

Fifteen members of Cornell college sociology club joined the Coe sociology group at professor Russell Nash’s Cedar Rapids home for a race relations discussion led by Dr Percy G. Harris. The next day students attended Iowa Sociology Clubs meeting at the State University of Iowa where Prof Raymond Mack spoke. J Harold Ennis accompanied both groups and was elected vice president of the Iowa Archaeological Society.

Cornell Hosts June Church Youth Music Camp
Cornell college will host a June 12 to 18 Church Music Camp for Youth with director Paul Beckhelm of Cornell Conservatory. William Lemonds will lead the camp choir with W Earle Copes as guest organ lecturer. staff from Cornell will assist and enrollment is limited to 60 girls and 40 boys. Rooms and meals provided, daily worship services, and a candlelight Communion highlight the week.

Cole Heads North Iowa Ministers Conference in Marshalltown
President Russell D. Cole will participate in the 105th North Iowa Ministers Conference at Marshalltown June 12 to 16. Ministers will receive new appointments June 13, with a banquet for Cornell and Morningside colleges. About 200 to 300 ministers attend. Bishop F. Kollman Granted $1400 For Book
Eric C. Kollman, professor of history at Cornell College, has received a $1400 award from the American Philosophical Society in Philadelphia to support his biography of former Austrian president Theodor Koerner. He also held $2000 from the Social Science Research Council and $800 from the Theodor Koerner Foundation. Kollman will spend the summer and the first semester of next year in Europe writing his book on sabbatical leave from Cornell.
