J-Board Finds Exec Council Guilty Over SAF Referendum Question

The J Board interprets the by laws to require a referendum only if the SAF exceeds five percent. Plaintiff Kallio and witnesses including Ron Albers Sarah Perry and Dr Nicholas Berry testified on constitution writing and interpretation while Govier led the defense arguing lack of willful neglect. The trial featured Dean Robert Reid as prosecution witness and the defense argued jurisdiction and miswording of charges.

Referendums at Cornell College Fail Amid Irregularities

Executive VP Jack Govier reports both referendums failed on Friday. The Afro-American Society funding measure fell 285 yes to 105 no under a 50 percent turnout rule, with 44 percent voting. without limits it would pass 73 percent. The Cornell College Disciplinary Procedures draft lost 156 to 138, sending the document back to SAGE for revision and debate. Reports allege election irregularities include the president overseeing polls, late key access, and ballots exhausted before polls closed.

Honoraria Restored at Cornellian and Royal Purple

The Cornell University student government and Publications and Communications Board resolved to reinstate editor honoraria for the Royal Purple and Cornellian. The yearbook staff will receive 600 dollars and the newspaper 650 dollars. Applications for editor positions are due by 7 15 tonight at the Commons Information Desk.

Three to receive honorary degrees at 118th Cornell College graduation

Saul Bellow Rust College president Dr William A McMillan and scientist Gerald K Rowe will receive honorary degrees at Cornell College May 16 at noon on the campus lawn. The ceremony unites baccalaureate and commencement for the first time in the college history with Bishop James S Thomas Jr delivering the address.
