Baltz Resigns Cornell Conservatory Directorship
Harold W. Baltz resigns as director of the Conservatory and Alumni Professor of Music at Cornell College to end of the academic year. He will spend a year at Columbia University for a thesis before a new post and successor will be appointed within weeks. Baltz joined Cornell in 1925 became director in 1930 and was named Alumni Professor of Music in 1938. He directed the college choir and the 160 member Cornell Oratorio Society.

Contributions To Relief Fund Top $1 500 At Cornell
After a second round of collections for foreign relief Cornell’s total reached 1 482 00 with a mailed 184 00 to Friends Service Committee in Philadelphia. The biggest single gift was 130 00 from 13 members of the Mill social group. Dormitory groups Sipple house and Bowman hall joined faculty and town students in averaging over a dollar per person.

Cornell College Faces Mount Vernon Housing Shortage
President Russell Cole outlined a housing shortage in Mount Vernon and announced a town college survey with Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce. The Federal Housing Authority has allocated dormitory units for 32 single men and a further allotment of family units, with about 15 families expected to be housed this summer.
