The eighth annual Minstrel Show by the Mount Vernon Lions Club drew full houses and laughter from opening at 8 15. The program featured endmen jokes and vaudeville style numbers by Lions quartet and soloists with the crowd applauding for encores. Proceeds fund a youth center a summer playground and related activities.

Redecoration Of Main Hall Completed In Spring Refresh

In spring the Main Hall redecoration spreads across the south first floor including President Cole and Dean MacGregor offices. Partitions re-arranged in admissions create a compact space and mauve walls brighten the area. Cole's office features light green paint and new built in shelves as MacGregor notes changes.

Open Hangout Saturday Night Launch of Cole House

The Cole House opens Saturday night at 7 with a student run hangout. Esther Sumner and others lead a committee under Dean Holmes and faculty. Margaret Smyth oversees student help. Soft drinks and foods will be served from 8:00 AM to closing hours, with limited Sunday hours. Hodge loaned the piano and dishes are donated, creating a homey atmosphere.
