Mexico Today Theme of Dr Richards Lecture

Dr. HH S Richards presents Mexico Today with focus on Paricutin volcano Friday at 7:30 in the chapel. The paleontologist and geologist will show colored slides and discuss mollusks while sharing travels from South America to Alaska and affiliations with Philadelphia and Trenton museums.

Cornell Students Shine At Iowa Forensic Meet

Cornell teams under Prof. Seth Fessenden placed four entries in eight events at the Iowa Forensic meet held March 15–16 at Coe College Cedar Rapids. Top honors went to Bob Connor Beverly Breckenridge and Herb Kane with superior and excellent ratings in debate and poetry reading. Debates against Iowa Wesleyan loom next on March 25 at 1 20 and 2 20 p.m.

Bachelor Catcher Ball Planned by Junior Class

The spring dance titled bachelor catcher ball will be held Saturday March 23 in the gym from eight to twelve. Sponsored by the junior class in honor of the seniors the event features Don Roberts Orchestra from Cedar Rapids with chaperones Mr Franklin LeBar Miss Ruth Pinkerton Dr and Mrs Eric Kollman and Dr and Mrs Robert Montgomery. All students are invited.

Students Present Recital Tonight at Conservatory

The Conservatory of Music presents a recital at 7 p.m. in the chapel featuring a string quartet with Betty Olmsted Frances Anderson Phyllis Mead and Maryann Mahaffey performing Serenade for Strings. Soloists Gwen Ramseyer Richard Snodgrass Elsie Dibble Georgia Retsinas Eunice Boardman and Phyllis Schleich perform arias songs and piano numbers with accompanying musicians. The program includes works by Mozart Bizet Puccini Brahms and others. Public admission is invited.

Alumni Writer Will Lecture To English Club

Herbert G. Owens, noted Des Moines Register and Tribune feature writer, will lecture to Professor Clyde Tull's English club next Monday at 4 10 in his classroom. He will discuss journalism experiences including wartime reporting in France and his painting and photography awards.

Delphis to Host Dress Up Dance for Cornellians

The Delphi social group hosts a dress-up dance for Cornellians at Legion hall on Saturday March 30 from 3:00 to 10:30 p.m. Bids cost 25 cents and are available from any Delphi. attendees urged to bring dates and kids.

Dr Cole Leads Senate Prayer During East Coast Alumni Tour

Dr. Cole traveled from Mt Vernon to Redding Massachusetts to deliver a Sunday address at Old South Church and spoke at alumni events in Boston Providence and New York. He met Churchill in Washington and attended Navy tours. He opened the U.S. Senate with a prayer on March 12 and met numerous Cornell affiliates and church figures along the trip.

Jolas Presents Recital Sunday at Cornell Chapel

Jacques Jolas of the Music Conservatory faculty will give a piano recital Sunday at 4 p.m. in the Cornell chapel. The program includes the Three Score Set by William Schumann and concerto pieces by Ravel, highlighting Jolas’s prominent campus and Chicago performance history.
