Cornell varsity and freshmen wrestlers and basketball players received major letters and numerals from the Athletic Committee. The basketball group included captains Wallace McCullen and Dell Raymond, with several others earning numerals and letters. The wrestling team honored Captain Paul Scott and Maynard Bell among others. freshmen basketball players also received numerals. Dr N Knight judged an American Chemical Society prize essay contest.

New Yorker Wills Local Chemistry Fund Gift to Cornell
The Cornell board received a $2,000 gift from the estate of W. E. D. Stokes, New York hotel owner, to support a new chemistry building. Stokes, moved by a fair 1925 Chicago trial in Judge William N. Gemmill’s court, promised aid after Gemmill urged Cornell needs. Stokes died in New York about a year ago. the check was received recently.

Matmen Compete in Annual Joust
Twenty eight wrestlers from four college classes competed in the annual all college wrestling tournament held Tuesday and Wednesday. Seven weight classes ranged 115 to 175 pounds with large entries at 145 155 and 165. two contestants each in 125 135 and 175. Rogers a freshman won the 155 pound class after navigating stiff rounds. Allen advanced to the finals after a strong basketball season.
