Plans For Grex Near Completion As Time Lessens

Letters of acceptance flood in from high school girls invited to the Girls Grex. Over 900 invitations sent, and while music contests run statewide, many girls are expected to attend. Final plans set for Friday night for the entire student body with free admission. A luncheon follows on Saturday at 12:30 at First Methodist church for all women in the college. At the luncheon new members of the A W S and W A A boards are installed. W A A board members: Jean Midkiff president Florence Wilson VP Alva Benson secretary Dorothy Gilmore treasurer. A W S S board nominees to be elected early this week in chapel per senior Senate nominations. President nominees: Lissette Ehrmann Helen Glen Florence Wilson. Secretary nominees: Eleanor Culver Zita Volney Helen Holmgren. Social chairman nominees (sophomore class): Ava Schnittjer Frances Long Marian Ketelsen. Dr Peterson to Speak on Chemistry of Photography

Dr Ben H Peterson, chemistry professor at Coe College, will lecture on The Chemistry of Photography in a science club series. The 6 40 pm talk tomorrow will be in the geology lecture room and open to all. The event mirrors last semester's oil and gas prospecting exchange with Prof Donald B Gould of Cornell.

School Music Club Meeting Set for Tomorrow

The Public School Music Club will meet tomorrow at 6 45 PM in the physics lecture room of the Law Memorial building. Several students will discuss the use of radio in school music appreciation programs. Prof. W H Hodgson sponsors invites all interested in music to attend.

Samuel Pepys wrote in 1667 that The Tempest is an old play of Shakespeare full of good variety with storms shipwrecks enchanted islands and dancing nymphs. A week later he found it very pleasant and almost a comedy in its charm and imaginative scope.

Entertain Schoolmen Here at Cornell College

Cornell college has invited eastern Iowa schoolmen to a campus conference on March 25 starting at 10 45 o clock. Iowa superintendents will lead sessions on consolidating support for schools keeping the public informed conserving educational values teacher load salaries budgetary control and economical administration of consolidated schools. A round table on wise economics in smaller schools will be led by Supt J H Peet of Washington.

Reserved seats for the sophomore class play The Tempest go on sale at The Grill on Wednesday and Thursday from 1 to 5 PM, Friday 1 to 5 PM, and Saturday mornings 10 to noon and 1 to 4 PM.

Winning Writers Revealed Friday Winners Named in Midwest Contest

The Cor nell college English club announced Friday that two Minneapolis Central high school students won top awards in the Midwest high school creative writing contest. Charlotte Radcliff won first in poetry for Lassitude and Laurie Cavanaugh won first in prose sketch for Before Breakfast. Each received a ten dollar prize.

Men's Octet On Air At Davenport Friday

The Men's Octet under Francis German will broadcast from Davenport Friday 8 to 8 30 pm. Accompanist Dale McConnell will join with a piano solo of Debussy Prelude in A minor. The program features two old English melodies, negro spirituals, and cowboy ballads.
