The March Latin Club meeting at 6 40 p m in the home of Prof and Mrs Mark E Hutchinson covered Reasons Religion. Four papers titled Roman Gods Household Gods After Life and Vestal Virgins and Priests were read by Helen Van Behren Kathryn Newhard Ruth Van Buren and Margaret Chamberlin with Van Behren as chairman. Refreshments were hosted by Mrs Hutchinson.
Walt Gray director of the Alumni office departed Wednesday for a tour visiting Cornell alumni in downtowns. He recently completed a similar trip visiting many Cornellians and expects to return Saturday. In his absence Vance Allyn leads the Alumni office. Mrs. Gray and their daughter are visiting relatives in Decorah this week.
The W A A presents their annual water carnival on Saturday night reenacting a mermaid tale. The feature follows Maxine Whitcomb who has repeatedly fallen into the pool during practice, from playful slips to near misses, as spectators await the events on page last.
Prof F M McGaw delivered a chapel talk to students reading a Celeste letter to her lover. The letter defends her father Galileo and appears in verse by Alfred Noyes, the English poet.
Cornell marks twenty years of Grex breakfast with a program for guest dormitory girls. Since 1911 annual gatherings have moved from gymnasiums to church basements. The event now features varied student presentations and department numbers, hosted by the A. W. &. girls group.
Friday chapel speaker Ruth Lockman from the Inter-Collegiate Prohibition Association described current moves to prevent prohibition rather than cure habitual users. She noted European difficulties where governments ally with brewery owners and advertising for liquor is widespread.

Coach Richard Barker and wrestlers traveling to the state meet escaped injury when Barker’s car and a second vehicle crashed on the Lincoln Highway east of Halfway Station. The sedan slid off the road, overturned, and burned after the collision.
Herbert Rosengren opens a two week one man exhibition of paintings etchings and sculpture in Rockford Illinois at the Rockford Art Association gallery. The event mirrors Cedar Rapids Little Gallery with oils and a new plaster head of the artist's father.

The Belle Plaine home economics class presented a spring style show in the department rooms at 3 30 Friday afternoon. Wives of the faculty mothers and instructors watched as the 32 girls displayed outfits either made in class or owned by the participants.
The sudden death of Arthur Chandler, brother of Dr. Sidney L. Chandler, from a heart attack was announced Friday in Lyons, Nebraska. Dr. Chandler attended the funeral in Odebolt on Monday where Arthur was buried. Ruth Van Buren plans to visit her grandparents in Tipton on Sunday.
About 156 girls arrive for Cornell College's annual Girls Grex with registration at Bowman Hall. The event features a 7 30 pm chapel program, a Saturday fashion show by home economics students, gallery viewing in the art rooms, and a gym play day with organized basketball and hosting arrangements.
