Cornell Rams Panth ers rally ends season with festive parade

After the ISTC Panth ers lost to the Cornell Rams, a campus pep rally and spontaneous 22 car parade through Marion and Cedar Rapids drew cheers from Cornell students and alumni. Lynn Bear Stiles organized the rally with Cornell men. Bob Smith approved the chapel pep program.

Everyman staged by Cornell art music and drama departments

The Cornell art, music and dramatic arts departments join to present "The Summoning of Everyman," an early English morality play. Performances run Saturday April 1 at 8 15 pm and Sunday April 2 at 3 00 pm with two weeks of rehearsal. Set and costumes are by the art department and music by Mrs. June McConlogue Chester Webb and the Cornell choir. Overture by Heinrich Schutz Stabat Mater by Palestrina and O Magnum Mysteria by Vittoria will be sung in Latin by a double choir. all music except the overture is in Latin.

Dr Herbert B Bruner superintendent of Minneapolis schools will speak at Cornell with morning talks on Education for 1950 and The Role of the Administrator in 1950 Education A panel of four superintendents will discuss issues with guidance specialist Dr Fritz Redl from Wayne University leading sessions Delegates will be hosted at a luncheon by Cornell and the Little Theater conference venue is the Little Theater with invites extended to all attendees.

Faculty Frenzy Smashing Hit At Cornell Theater

The Faculty Frenzy show at Armstrong hall and Bowman theater drew strong praise from students. Merill and colleagues opened with Cornell personalities, followed by the Faculty Meeting and a string of skits and solos. Highlights included Casanova Quimby, the Registrar’s Office verses, Swanee River Meade, and a finale with a vigorous square dance and rousing chorals. Miss Isaacs received an orchid for her work in developing the program.

Wright Lauderdale Run For Student Council Presidency

Final elections near with two candidates each for all offices. Julius Lauderdale and John Wright vie for student body president. Campaigns highlighted constitutional amendment and youth participation as the election nears.

Phi Beta Kappa Initiates Six New Members at Cornell

Six new Phi Beta Kappa members will be formally initiated Sunday March 19 at a tea hosted by Mrs Winifred Van Etten president of the local chapter. Attending will be Cornell faculty staff and students from the chapter. The six new members are Jane Graham Art Hamann Orville Marlowe Campbell McConnell Catherine Osgood and Laurel Presnell.
