Cornell seniors Collins and Extrem win theology scholarships

Cornell senior David Collins receives a full tuition scholarship from the Perkins School of Theology SMU Dallas to pursue a master of sacred music degree. He majors in organ performance and will graduate May 21 with a bachelor of music. Beth Extrem, also a Cornell senior, earns a Rockefeller Trial Year Fellowship for study at an accredited theological institution and may pursue ordained ministry.

Three One Act Plays From Black Quartet At Cornell

Black students present three one act plays from the book Black Quartet at Cornell Friday and Saturday March 17 and 18 at 8 15 p m in Armstrong Theatre. Afro American Society Cornell Theatre sponsor. Plays include The Warning A Theme for Linda The First Militant Minister and The Gentleman Caller. Odell McGhee directs with Fredrick Woodard advising and John Freeburg doing scenery.

Research Corporation Grants Chemistry Professors at Cornell College

The Research Corporation of New York has awarded two science grants totaling 28200 dollars to Cornell College chemistry professors. Dr. William Deskin and Dr. Addison Ault receive 15000 dollars over two years for Studies of Complexes of Transition Metals, while Dr. Truman Jordan gets 13200 dollars over three years for Stannous Fluoride and Dental Enamel. The grants support summer research for chemistry students and explore metal sulfide interactions and fluorides’ role in preventing tooth decay.

Cornell Blood Drive Falls Short of Goal at Pfeiffer Hall

The blood mobile at Pfeiffer Hall collected 139 pints on Tuesday March 14, near the 150 pint goal with 97 Cornellians rejected due to low hemoglobin counts. Rejections cited diet and sleep issues while donors who participated were praised for a smooth process.
