Debates set for next week by university teams
University of Chicago debaters will meet on campus Tuesday night March 19 to discuss the isolation question with Cornell’s Dick Grumman and Howard Jeske on the affirmative and Charles Higbie and Max Miller on the negative. A second match Friday March 22 features Western State Teachers College Kalamazoo Michigan teams opposing Cornell on the same topic. Earlier this week Jane Courson and Marjorie Littell argued the affirmative against Central College Pella Iowa with Francis Allen and Robert Nelson on the negative. Coe College sent teams last Monday night with Robert Clemens and William Dean on the negative and Francis Allen and Robert Nelson on the affirmative.

New Issue Of Bios Released With Plant Embryology Cover
The quarterly bioscience magazine Bios released its 64 page new issue this week. George Young designed the cover featuring plant embryology as motif. Published for 11 years, it has a 1200 circulation and reaches many colleges and universities nationwide plus some foreign outlets. Mount Vernon hosts the publication under Professor Frank Brooks as managing editor. The editorial board includes eight biologists from Colorado Texas Wisconsin Ohio and Illinois.

Four Cornell Soloists to Perform in Ottumwa Messiah Event

Four Day Chemistry Tour Planned For Students
Chemistry students will take a four day trip during spring vacation starting April 1 visiting industrial chemistry plants. The route includes Ulnon and Wisconsin with stops at the Forest Products Laboratory in Madison and the Institute of Paper Chemistry in Applicton. Plants in Milwaukee and Chicago are also on the tour.
