Biggest SP A 10 convention to be held at Cornell

The SP A 10 convention will be hosted by Cornell with prominent candidate for governor Colson to speak on April 1. The event features exhibits from the Cornell I P A temperance library and a poster exhibit by Epworth League and Christian Endeavor societies. Attorney General Cosson will address the Iowa situation.

Cornell Musicians Begin Spring Tour Schedule

The Cornell troupes start trips with the girls glee club traveling to Shellsburg for its first appearance tomorrow evening and the orchestra to Calamus for its initial public tryout. The men’s glee club trip to Springville was canceled due to a smallpox epidemic, shifting first stop to Anamosa Friday.

Bowman Memorial Gym Dedicated at De Pauw University

De Pauw University unveiled the Bowman Memorial gymnasium costing 125000 with showers ventilating system and training appliances making it a top midwest facility. Y M C A and Y W C A rooms on the first floor were furnished by Hugh Dougherty of Indianapolis and named Dougherty hall. Prohibition Home Oratorical Contest Set for May

The Home Prohibition Oratorical contest will be held May 12 with more contestants than a single show can hold. Three preliminary contests will be staged in nearby towns as deputation programs. Winners advance to the final here, competing for prizes of twenty five fifteen and ten dollars plus fifty to be announced.

Manual Training Dept Grows Rapidly at Cornell

Cornell's Manual Training department expands as students fill a shop that resembles a manufacturing plant. Professor McGaw says the course builds general culture, practical skill in joint making, finishing, and evaluating quality. The winter short course boosted enrollment, and current facilities are better.

Freshmen Win Indoor Meet In Slim Heights

The annual indoor track meet was held in the gymnasium on Saturday. Freshmen won the meet by a comfortable margin, with juniors second and seniors third as the track had only two weeks to settle. Manley set a 220 yard dash record at 24 1 5 seconds and Williams led the quarter at 59.3. Windenburg improved the record in the rope event with 21.1 seconds, and Burkhardt extended the shot put mark to 33 feet 2 inches.

Fackler Heads Big Conference On Field Work

Unusual interest in the conference on Field Work is led by Mr. Leonard Fackler. He dominates publicity for the Cornell I P A and the I P A of the state. His work for the last year set a high mark for conventions and earned him a Chicago post with the National Prohibition Party. He also produced special articles on Cedar Rapids industries including the Iowa Telephone camp.

Two Classes Plan Pool Gift For Cornell Gym

The two upper classes, led by Presidents Andreae and Kreger, meet to authorize a ten thousand dollar campaign to fund a swimming pool in Alumni gymnasium. They aim to raise the gift by April fifth and place the pool in the boiler room area as heating upgrades proceed.

College Guild Entertains Cornell Young Women

The College Guild's social committee hosted Cornell's young women at Dr Betts's home. The afternoon featured a Loan Exhibit of antiques from Mount Vernon, including books, flint locks, samplers, china, silver, spinning wheels, and period furnishings. Nutbread sandwiches and cocoa were served.

Alethian Officers Named for Spring Term

The Alethian club announces its spring term officers led by Blanch Swindell as president and Frances Moore as vice president. Other posts include recording secretary Marguerite McKerral, treasurer Gladys Madren, and corresponding secretary Celia Rogers with censors, critics, and ushers filling the remaining roles.
