The men’s glee club trip to Springville was canceled due to a smallpox epidemic, shifting first stop to Anamosa Friday.

The Home Prohibition Oratorical contest will be held May 12 with more contestants than a single show can hold. Three preliminary contests will be staged in nearby towns as deputation programs. Winners advance to the final here, competing for prizes of twenty five fifteen and ten dollars plus fifty to be announced.
Manual Training Dept Grows Rapidly at Cornell
Cornell's Manual Training department expands as students fill a shop that resembles a manufacturing plant. Professor McGaw says the course builds general culture, practical skill in joint making, finishing, and evaluating quality. The winter short course boosted enrollment, and current facilities are better.

Freshmen Win Indoor Meet In Slim Heights
The annual indoor track meet was held in the gymnasium on Saturday. Freshmen won the meet by a comfortable margin, with juniors second and seniors third as the track had only two weeks to settle. Manley set a 220 yard dash record at 24 1 5 seconds and Williams led the quarter at 59.3. Windenburg improved the record in the rope event with 21.1 seconds, and Burkhardt extended the shot put mark to 33 feet 2 inches.

Fackler Heads Big Conference On Field Work
Unusual interest in the conference on Field Work is led by Mr. Leonard Fackler. He dominates publicity for the Cornell I P A and the I P A of the state.
