Cornell wrestlers swept Carleton with a 20 to 0 victory at Northfield Minnesota in a dual meet. Van Etten Lupton Nielsen Jones Scott Appleton and Midkiff earned decisions and falls while Carleton produced only brief time advantages.

Chemist Speaks to Science Club

Dr. Ernest Vollweiler director of research at Abbott Laboratories Chicago will address the Iowa Section of the American Chemical Society in Iowa City Thursday night. He talks on Chemistry in the Aid of Medicine with focus on insulin and new anesthetics. The Science Club invites all interested to hear the talk Wednesday at 4 45 in the geology room South Hall.

Editor in chief Martin Munson and assistants drive the 1926 Royal Purple toward completion. Engraving largely finished, proofs returned, text with printers in Iowa City. Final approval hoped before spring vacation. distribution expected around May 1 to students.

Choir to Sing the Crucifixion at Easter Vesper

The Choir at the Methodist Episcopal church will perform The Crucifixion by John Stainer with text by J. Sparrow-Simpson on Sunday March 15 at 4 p m as part of the annual Easter Vesper service. The concert features the college Glee and Oratorio societies with soloists professors Conrad Wells Gustafson and Miller plus organ accompaniment by Horace Alden Miller under E H F Weis. An offering will be taken at the door to cover rental and soloist expenses.

Cornell Delegate Attends Iowa College Presidents Meet

Dean C. E. Wildman represented Cornell at the Iowa State Association of College Presidents gathering in Des Moines on Friday March 6. Ten Iowa colleges were present. Discussions focused on routine administration with a major talk on The Place of Religion in College Life. The group was hosted by the Grand Club of Des Moines.

The C Club presents its annual high school invitation basketball tournament in Cornell with seven Class A teams from Grant Cedar Rapids Anamosa University Iowa City Monticello Tipton Manion Grundy Center and 15 Class B teams including West Branch Wheatland Springville Mt. Vernon Center Point Lone Tree Urbana Clarence Morley Alburnett DeWitt Palo Lisbon Calamus Walker. Action starts 6:40 PM Thursday with Class B. Friday morning features Class B and the first Class A round at 1:10 PM. two Friday night games due to a debate, with the event continuing Saturday morning.

Cornell Track Plans Three Dual Meets This Spring

The Cornell track team schedules three dual meets plus relays and championships. Carleton visits Mount Vernon May 2, Beloit travels next Saturday, Coe comes May 16 for the last dual. Drake relays loom April and a Kansas relay entry may occur. The May 23 state meet is at Grinnell and the Midwest Conference title chase is set for St Paul May 29 with Hamline hosting.

Girls Grex invites high school guests to May 1 and 2

Both men and girls invite friends to Grex at Cornell. Slips will be distributed Thursday morning in the Chapel for names of promising high school juniors and seniors to be invited. The event features W A A awards and a performance by the Girls Glee Club with a special surprise planned.

Debaters Defeat Beloit Meet Albion Ripon Next

Professor Homer V. Cherrington of the Economics department will leave to head the Economics Department at Ohio University Athens Ohio. He will assume duties by March 15 and returns to his alma mater as an instructor amid recognition of the honor. Plans are underway to secure a substitute at Cornell for his vacancy.

National YWCA Secretary Speaks At Y Dinner

Miss Talitha Gerlach National Student Secretary of the YWCA was the chief speaker at the YWCA dinner Saturday evening. She described YWCA benefits for industrial, colored and southern girls and outlined its reach from small towns to the Girl Reserves. She also visited campus Monday for meetings with interested girls.

Cornell Debaters Extend Win Streak Against Beloit

Cornell’s debate team captured an 8-0 decision over Beloit as Lake Henning and Ennis argued the negative. Beloit’s Keithly Motzeff and Cole challenged the plan, with judges Reis Aurner and two UW professors favoring Cornell’s stance. Next Friday Cornell meets Albion at home with a Michigan trio again in the balance.
