A student chorus of casual remarks captures campus life on Pfeiffer hill. Voices in Main hall, the Bin, and the Chapel reveal jokes about clocks, laundry, housing numbers, dating, and daily routines, including gossip about classes, rooms, and social events.

Students at Cornell Christian Association nominate officers with lists posted on Bowman and Pfeiffer bulletin boards. Election is next Tuesday in the chapel. president and vice president to be chosen by top two vote recipients. secretary and treasurer slates named.
Miss Ethel Ryan Barbara Browning and Kathie Safford will represent the Cornell Women's Athletic Association at the State Athletic Federation of College Women conference in Iowa City on Saturday March 9.
A college logic exercise questions if squeezing toothpaste in the middle predicts good marriage. Dr Bob Montgomery leads about 30 experts forming premises that all middle squeezeers won t make good husbands. The survey notes varying campus views and ends noting continuation on page 3.
A special committee named by the student Advisory Council announces March 8 17 as the Coe Cornell trophy contest dates. The trophy aims to symbolize the Linn County football feud and curb disruptive Homecoming demonstrations. Students Tim Langenbach John Warren and Walt Gray with Coe representatives plan procedures and prize the War Savings Bond offered by Presidents Hollins and Cole.
Due to a complete sell-out of Friday and Saturday night tickets for The Cherry Orchard a special matinee is added at the Little Theatre Saturday March 16 at 2 30 p m for patrons seeking seats.
Mrs Harold Baltz gave a harpsichord program Tuesday before the Mount Vernon music club with a Midwest premiere of Bach The Wedding Cantata No 202. Ensemble included Mary Yost Silliman Chester Williams Lloyd Oakland Mary Tullis Betty Olmsted and Dean Lusted with solo harpsichord pieces from Handel Scarlatti and Couperin.
Week spots a campus schedule with events from March 9 to March 12. Saturday features a dance in the Armstrong exhibition room from 8 to 10 36 p m. Sunday offers a band concert in the Chapel at 4 p m. Monday includes a student recital in the Chapel at 4 2 p m and a Writers' Club meeting in South Hall at 4 10 p m. Tuesday presents an international club event in the Geology lecture room within the Law building at 7 p m.
The Fine Arts library receives a gift of one hundred Rembrandt etchings reproductions and three Blue Books of Art. The donor is Peter Somers, a former student known as Pete Solmitz to Cornellians, announced by librarian Margaret Taylor.
A junior class formal dance to honor the seniors is set for Saturday March 23 with Don Roberts and his Cedar Rapids orchestra providing music. Tim Langenbach serves as general chairman with Norene Anderson Judy Russell and others directing decorations, refreshments, floor show and publicity.
Cornell's The Cherry Orchard cast rejected Eva Le Gallienne and Garnet translations choosing the original script for authenticity. Director Al Johnson supported the choice, with actors writing character autopsies to embody true Russian temperament. Performances are set for March 15 and 16 at 8 15 p.m. in the Little Theatre.
Harold Baltz head of the Cornell Conservatory of Music and Ruth Ray violin instructor travel to Des Moines to judge local contestants seeking soloist spots with the Drake Community Orchestra. Entries include vocal piano and violin performers. Winners will perform in a spring concert.
The Cornell college band directed by Lloyd Oakland will perform March 10 at 4 00 PM in King Memorial Chapel. The Woodwind Quintet led by Chester Williams and Brass Quartet managed by Richard Bentley join in standard pieces and modern works including Newsreel by William Schuman and Haldigungsmarsch arranged by Eugene Devereaux. Jean Newton will be piccolo soloist as the ensemble plays Mozart Divertimento No. 8 and works by Rimsky Korsakow Colby Tuthill and Gault.
Cornell will send teams to the Iowa forensic meet at Coe College March 15 and 16. Two debating teams will discuss world free trade with Roberts Connor and Dick Blakinger versus Herb Kane and Leighton Rickert. Extemporaneous speakers Bob Connor and Beverly Breckenridge will cover labor problems in the United States.
