ONeill Play Beyond the Horizon Opens Friday at Little Theatre

An audience praised the first two acts after dress rehearsal of Eugene ONeill’s Beyond the Horizon. Regular performances run Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 30 p m in Armstrong Hall Little Theatre with tickets at the financial office admission fifty cents for outsiders and twenty five cents for students. Bob Hartung directs under Prof Albert Johnson and Bertha French Johnson with Ruth Atkins Mayo Ruth Weber Mayo James Mayo and others in the cast as rehearsals continue smoothly.

Johnson Hurt in Fall From Stage at Armstrong Hall

Prof Albert Franklin Johnson fell from the Little Theatre stage into the orchestra pit during rehearsal for Beyond the Horizon in Armstrong Hall Saturday. Doctors have not yet determined the full extent of his injuries but he is resting and better today and will miss classes for a few days.

Sophomore Class Plans Party in Lisbon

Sophomores invite classmates to a Lisbon party on March 17 beginning at five at the college chapel. The group will hike to Lisbon for an old fashioned chicken and noodle supper with all you can eat. A German band will perform and a brief program is planned. Tickets cost thirty five cents and are on sale at all dormitories.

Cornell hosts art program marking art department opening

Cornell students are invited to a March 19 program in Armstrong hall to celebrate the formal opening of the art department. Edmund Giesbert will present a life drawing lecture demonstration, preceded by an illustrated conversation by Cornell art students. Spends Half Hour in Jail Saves Reputation

Phil Tunnicliff faced brief humiliation when detained in Lisbon jail for over thirty minutes. He bore a striking resemblance to a highway robber who seized Richard Paladian ex 38’s valuables during a visit last week. An official helped him reach DeWitt by bus, preserving his good name on the journey home to Moline.
