Purple Cagers Defeat Carroll In Last Game

The Carroll College five, long time conquerors of many teams, were defeated by Cornell 28 to 26 in the final game of the season. McCullen started for Cornell and sparked a 17 to 11 first half lead. Bazal stalled in the second half as Cornell held on for the win on their floor.

Cornell Freshmen Fall to Monmouth Cagers 34 31

Cornell freshmen lose their second game of the season to Monmouth yearlings by 34 to 31. The pace was fast and fouls were high with sixteen personal penalties on Cornell. O’Connor led Cornell with 12 points, while Inglett paced Monmouth with 17 points after a second-half surge.

Lake Forest edged Cornell 28 to 22 on a small Il linois School court as Lundt Cook Welzel Bloom McCullen and Macklin led the attack. Macklin struck four baskets and Roskie starred at center while Cornell struggled to control the boards and finish shots.

Cornell Party Night Brings Men to House Soirees

A large portion of students attended inter house parties Friday night with men entertaining women at various men's houses. Earlier in the year similar events occurred at women's houses. The Cornell Christian Association sponsors the plan to entertain the entire student body in small groups with refreshments for the young ladies.

A Cornell University room in the Y is abuzz with a game dubbed Methodist pool, but really an indoor carrom style pastime enjoyed by athletes and scholars alike. Players range from basketball stars to Phi Beta Kappa members, with rivalries and a few side bets reported in a lively campus scene.

Three Y M C A Speakers to Visit Cornell Campus

Three well known Y workers A J Dad Elliot G M Brandenburg and H E R Hinkley will spend the first three days of next week on the Cornell campus speaking before student groups and aiding the Cornell Christian Association with religious work issues. Elliot, national secretary of the Y M C A and a famed college speaker, is a founder of the Lake Geneva Conference and a former Northwestern football star. Brandenburg and Hinkley will focus on organization and critique of current procedures, proposing changes. The trio will be available Monday Tuesday and Wednesday mornings for conferences and will speak each morning at chapel services and campus meetings, with evening sessions to follow.

C C A Seeks Student Summer Work Through Questionnaire

The C C A plans a survey on college employment for government data. A two part questionnaire will be passed during tomorrow's chapel service, asking about working students expenses and preferred summer jobs. Cornell Students Attend Ames Conference on Student Problems

Thirteen Cornell students and faculty attended a weekend conference at Ames to discuss biblical approaches to student issues. Bruce Curry read discussions and delegates called the meetings mental exercises. Curry focused on Jesus' approach and its application to current student problems. Professor Clyde Tull and Miss Ermina Mills joined Miss Lillian Smedley from the English department at Ames.

Debaters Open Home Season with United States Foreign Policy Question

Cornell and Carleton College square off in a debut debate on whether the US should not defend foreign capital by armed force except after war declaration. Judge Prof. Van de Pre oversees as Cornell’s negative faces Carleton’s affirmative in Northfield, with the Iowa professor presiding. The event opens at 7:30 PM in the chapel auditorium.

Polly With a Past rehearsal rounds out week of prep

Rehearsals continue for Polly With a Past to be staged in the chapel auditorium on Friday evening March 9. Miss Ruth Schlaberg directs with help from an assisting committee. The comedy features Karl Weiss and Nyrah Gaskell with a light plot of romance and comic misunderstandings.

Pirate Gold Dramatization Planned by Women’s Athletic Association

The Women’s Athletic Association presents Pirate Gold at Wester gymnasium on March 15 and 16 with two evening performances. The play features pirates sailors and treasure in a colorful show. Admission is twenty five cents with limited tickets due to pool room capacity. Margaret Soper leads the swimming committee.
