Jazz in Two Dimensions concert to aid Campus Chest
Student produced jazz event titled Jazz in Two Dimensions will be held next Friday March 8 at 8 15 p m in the chapel. Admission is 35 cents benefiting Campus Chest. The program features a main combo a second combo a vocal quartet and a vocal soloist with jams to open and close. Notable participants include Don Douglass piano Dick Bird bass Jerry Gilles drums Phil Crabtree tenor sax Gene Hunley trumpet and Rick Beaumont soloist. Efforts are underway to add Cornell graduates Dan Stapay tenor sax and Pete Fisher trombone.

SC Announces Election and Dance for 1957 58
Bob Kemper, president of the Student Council, announced primary elections for 1957 58 student council will be Wednesday March 6 and final elections Friday March 8. Petitions for candidacy available March 1 and due March 4 for president vice president AWS MS representatives and class presidents. A Mardi Gras stag dance is planned for March 9 at the Field House with a carnival sock hop and live combo.

State Department aid cited in Latin America policy talk

Twelve students compete in piano voice and violin at the Iowa Federation of the Music Clubs auditions in the chapel with sessions at 9 am and 1 15 pm. 20 Prospective Students Visit Campus This Weekend
More than 200 prospective students are expected for campus visits this weekend, with 47 last weekend. Since last September at least 250 seniors from Iowa Illinois Minnesota and Wisconsin have visited Cornell to see the campus as it exists. Invitations reach those contacted by field reps or who wrote inquiries. Visiting students tour campus and attend classes dorms and campus activities.

False Alarm at Merner Costs $160
A false fire alarm at Merner Hall triggered the Mt. Vernon Fire Department at 1 15 a m on Wednesday Feb 27.
