Forensic Trio Loses Decision in Beloit Power Debate

In a Beloit debate on power control, the Cornell team arguing for retention of public control lost to Beloit. Judge Prof C Littell praised both sides for clear discourse, while Prof G Gray critiqued outdated statistics and time spent in agreement. The affirmative was led by Felt with Reynolds and Pritchard. Beloit's winning trio were Martin, Williams and Carter.

Catalogue Goes to Press for 1929 30 Courses

The Seventy Sixth Annual Catalogue for 1929 1930 will go to press in the latter half of March printed by Mount Vernon Hawkeye Press. The catalogue committee includes Prof. Lane Prof McConnell and Dr Ebersole with no major changes in contents except type size. Copies are requested by prospective students libraries Congressional Library at Washington and exchange partners across the United States.

Officers Elected at Cornell Art Club Meet

At the first meeting of the year Cornell Art club elected Nelta Tregloan president Marvin Wilson secretary and treasurer. The new president outlined club aims and future activities. Several new members joined and membership remains open to all with a real interest in art. The next meeting is March 14.

Morley Slaght Receives Army Air Corps Commission

Morley F Slaght son of Prof and Mrs W E Slaght has earned a lieutenants commission in the U S Army Air Corps He studied at Cornell and the State University of Iowa and completed aviation training at Brooks Field San Antonio and Kelly Field He was the sole Iowa graduate in his class of 34 and will report to Selfridge Field Mount Clemens Michigan for the First Pursuit Squadron.
