Dr. Fernald Appointed To Three Committees

Dr. Roy L. Fernald, economist and professor, returns to the Maine Legislature for a second term. He heads the commerce and library groups and serves on the judiciary committee while also sitting as a member of another committee in the House.

Two Plays Opened To Cornell Students

Philip Barry's Hotel Universe will be produced by Cedar Rapids Community Players for Cornell students on Thursday and Friday nights. Students may obtain 25 cent tickets by signing lists in Prof. Clyde Tull's classroom or on the speech bulletin board, and student activity tickets must be presented. Cornelians may see The First Mrs Fraser by St John Erskine in Town City on Thursday and Friday with tickets from Professor Tull at the same price.

High Schools Enter Creative Writing Contest

Interest in the English club sponsored contest grows across Iowa and Illinois high schools. Prof Clyde Tull notes many inquiries and submissions. Winning prose verse and other distinguished works will appear in the March Husk. Prizes await top essays short stories and plays judged by Clyde Tull Jewell Bothwell Tull and Winifred Mayne.

Professor Harold Baltz director of the Conservatory of Music urged that scripture readings come first in worship with music second and the sermon third. He spoke before the Epworth League on Music As a Means to Worship and proposed developing cherub choirs junior groups adult choirs a band and an orchestra in moderate sized churches if facilities permit.

Everyman Play Scheduled in Clinton Church
