Sophomore led Cornell men topple Grinnell in 35 25 upset

The Cornell sophomores defeated undefeated Grinnell 35 to 25 in Alumni gym Monday night. Bill Dague led Cornell with 9 points while Dawyne Howard and George Jares added six each. Jim and Bob Bailey directed the back court as the sophomores controlled the ball and shot well.

Budapest String Quartet to Play at King Memorial Chapel

The Budapest String Quartet on its tenth American tour will perform at King Memorial Chapel on Tuesday evening January 21 as the second musical number in the lecture course. Members Roismann Schneider Kroyt and Mischa Schneider are noted for their world spanning career and praised for interpretations of both classics and moderns. Freshman debaters at Iowa State Teachers College posted a .500 mark with four wins four losses under coach Roswene, facing teams like Nebraska Weslyan and Burlington Junior College. February plans include two outside rebates with Maquoketa and Burlington.

Cornell Revises 1941 42 Fees In Flat Rate System

Dr John B Magee announces a restatement of annual student expenses at Cornell under the flat rate plan. The inclusive rate now lists tuition and fees at 250 dollars for the 1941 42 year, covering board room and general fees. The program has applied since 1936 with Merner Hall as a men’s dormitory.

Hamlet Helps Build Own Set For Next Play

The Little Theatre marks its third anniversary with Hamlet February 7 and 8 at 8 15 p m. The innovative two mobile unit set with revolving stages speeds scene changes enabling rapid shifts across 17 scenes. Howard Emerson designed and supervised construction with cast members including Jim Daly and Jeanette Carlson.

Carnegie Prints Exhibit At Cornell College In Armstrong Hall

A display in Armstrong Hall features 27 original Carnegie prints donated in 1926 and 26 reproductions of living American artists, on view through January. Highlights include Daumier and Delacroix lithographs and Whistler The Smiths Yard Lalanne Bordeaux in Winter Bracquemond The Coming Storm Millet The Gleaners. Reproductions of living American art may be bought from Miss Nama Lathe at 79 cents each or in a portfolio of eight at a special price.
