Do not wear cut off sweat shirts or jeans. men must wear dress slacks for dress meals and AMP convocations. Standards span pages 57 to 59. Meal times: breakfast 7:15–8:15 and 7:45–8:30 Sundays. lunch 11:30–12:30. suppers 5:30–6:15 weekends. Sunday noon meal 12:30. daily supper 6.
Drama department invites all interested to try out on Monday January 10 at 4 30 and 7 15 p m and Tuesday January 11 at 4 10 p m for productions of Ibsens The Doll House and Arthur Millers Death of a Salesman in April If cast cannot be secured USA from John Dos Passos trilogy may replace Death of a Salesman Scripts are on reserve in libraries and theatre offices.
The Patriots provide music for the Commons Blast Off Dance in Roe Night tomorrow. Sponsored by the sophomore class and the Commons Union Board, the event is part of CUB experiments with co sponsored activities. No admission charged. refreshments sold at the grill.
With the Commons building opening this week Cornell introduces a modern art display as part of a major gift program. Don Woodford notes the collection spans artists including Al Blaustein Paul Jenkins Jack Nelson Larry Rivers Robert Motherwell and Richard Ariszkiewicz among others with works arranged along lobby and lounge walls.
Leo Cromien named Commons new food production head after two years in Saga training at Western Minors University. He oversees preparation, quantity and prompt service as campus dining expands from two meals for 400-500 to feeding the entire campus. Cromien praises staff, notes improved facilities and plans further business studies.
The Cornell College Publications and Communications Board announces Elsi Senniger as Cornellian Managing Editor and Mark Pabst as Advertising Manager for the second semester. Senniger, a Webster Groves freshman, succeeds Sally Harper who will teach next term. Pabst, a Berwyn sophomore, replaces Myron Walters who joins the Experiment in International Living in Costa Rica.
The vesper service on January 12 at 7 30 p m in King Chapel will explore Epiphany beyond its Wise Men image. Rev James Goss campus minister notes the struggle of relating Epiphany to modern Christianity and will discuss where God is visible when most hidden. A coffee discussion in the Commons follows for comments and reflection.
