Notable Cornell Reunion Banquet in New York City

The Cornell College Club of New York City held its annual reception and banquet at the Hotel Chelsea on December 19 1911. About forty Cornellians gathered for a reminiscent evening with toastmaster Dr Edward T Devine and figures like James E Harlan and William F King. Speeches and stories of Cornell founders marked the event concluding with late hour reflections.

Two Cornellians Married Last Week

A wedding in Cornell followed December 27 with Miss Sara Tunnicliff marrying John Milton Gilchrist. Bridesmaids were Grace and Virginia Tunnicliff. Forest Loveland was best man. Guests from Mount Vernon and Cornell included Irwin West, Margaret Reid, Dr. and Mrs Barker, Miss Barker, Hazel Stillman, Louise Freer, Elizabeth Smith and Harlan Soper. The couple will live in Cambridge Massachusetts where Gilchrist studies at Harvard Medical School. Mrs Gilchrist attended Cornell years ago.

Floris Gospel Team Reports On Town Campaign

Floris minister H K Smith and a Cornell alumnus led a gospel team from December 26 to 31 in a week of visits, stunt programs, and meetings. Activities included hunting and skating outings to reach young men, with 45 attending a stunt exhibition and a talk on Christ's friendship. The church gained renewed vision and a core of personal workers, though conversions were modest. The team members were Homer Trimble Dean Rowley Will Brandon and Ralph Hill.

Debating League Elects Harold Jordan as Alternate

The debating league held a called meeting yesterday and elected Harold Jordan as an alternate for intercollegiate debate to replace Morris Fussell who resigned due to eye trouble. The two alternates will receive three hours of full credit and a gold medal, and will assist teams ready to fill vacancies. The final team selections are expected in a few weeks.
