Cornell College President Bids Farewell At Winter Weekend

Arland F. Christ-Janer ends six years of leadership at Cornell College in a farewell message. He thanks students faculty trustees and alumni and notes the college will move forward with continued support from the North Iowa Conference. The 1967 Winter Weekend features a casino race and sock hop with a playful, midwinter celebration tone.

Miss De Vries Named Cornellian Editor For Next Year

The Publications Board selected Chris De Vries of Billings Montana as the next Cornellian editor. She is a sophomore majoring in English or religion and currently copy editor of the Royal Purple. The April 10 issue will mark her official start. weekend events include a faculty run casino in Hilltop Lounge with play money, three roulette tables and multiple games, 8 to 10 30 p.m. Griff Froman will auction prizes at 10 30 p.m. Winners of Winter Weekend royalty race will be crowned at the Field House dance featuring Pete Klint Quintet with sock hop rules and admission 75 cents. Tickets available in advance and at the door.

Cornellian Seeks 1967-68 Paper Staff Applications

Marty Malin announces openings for managing editor business manager copy editor news editor feature editor layout editor advertising manager circulation manager for the 1967 68 year. Stipends range 200 per semester for two top posts 100 for others with no financial aid required. Training three weeks before April 10 edition. Apply to Malin by 4 p m Friday March 3 1967.

Student Council Approves Next Year Budget Totals

The council settles a 32 340 total for nine organizations at 980 students paying 33 per student. Royal Purple Cornellian KRNL AWS and others receive allocations with debate on Cornellian salaries and potential voluntary staffing. Discussion considers budget review and future cost pressures including color photos and KRNL equipment depreciation.
