About 300 to 400 students gathered in the Pal Room for a Tuesday evening open forum with President Stumpf. He explained reversing the Hearing Committee on the Oct. 15 disrobing incident and answered four floor questions on campus guards and the AAUP document.
KRNL presents a University of Miami event featuring Robert W. Sarnoff president of RCA Corporation. He urges reforms in higher education and notes that Hearing Committee decisions need not be final, indicating ongoing review by the president of the college.
All successful presidential and vice presidential hopefuls are asked to provide a one page statement to The Cornellian detailing planned actions if elected. Submissions must be typed, double spaced, and received by Tuesday noon. pictures may accompany statements. Only these subjects will be considered.
The Albert N Merritt Foundation will dissolve with no new loans after the 1968 69 year. Current borrowers may continue until graduation and those seeking loans for 1969 70 should apply promptly. The foundation has loaned over 200000 to Cornell students in eight years.
The resignation of Stuart Good, Dean of Student Affairs at Cornell College, becomes effective at the end of the academic year. President Dr. Samuel Enoch Stumpf notes Good’s long service since 1957 and that a student-faculty committee will review student affairs before a new dean is appointed.
The Mortar Board of Cornell College honors 22 freshmen women with Tassel status for first semester GPAs of 3.5 or higher, the largest group on record. The Smarty Party also saluted those with 3.25+ GPAs with a skit and address by Dean Howard Troyer.
Yesterday's student government primary trimmed the field to Ron Albers and Robert Barrick for SG president with final ballot set for March 6. John T. Greenwood and Doug Mehlan advance to SG vice presidency, Kimberley Haag unopposed for Commons Union Board, Andrea Lites and Barb Schultz seek CUB vice presidency, and AWS and Men's Senate primaries were rescheduled due to ballot irregularities with Religious Life Council also on Saturday's ballot.
John Bixler registered music therapist from the University of Iowa will give a talk at Cornell next Friday February 28 in the Pal Room The Commons at 4 p.m. The session will cover music therapy for handicapped and mentally challenged children with an open discussion to follow and all interested readers are urged to attend.
The Cornell College Madrigal Singers will perform Igor Stravinsky mass in King Chapel on Tuesday February 25 at 7 30 p m The 19 member chorus and eight piece ensemble under Daniel Culver the Fort Dodge Iowa sophomore will present a larger work than traditional madrigals
The campus Humanities Program hosts Black Week February 23 to 28 featuring faculty homes discussions on Black thought books at 7:30 p.m. The rest of the week offers convocation programs and films at King Chapel Maxwell Auditorium and the Little Theatre.
