Cornell College forms ad hoc Health Committee to review campus care

Dean James Kauffman announces a special Health Committee, chaired by Dr. Ed Rogers, to evaluate existing health services, study peer colleges, and propose future programs. It will include three faculty, six students, and one admin assistant with resource doctors Larsen and Pierce. A preliminary report is due by spring break, final recommendations by semester end.

Ray proposes big boost in Iowa Tuition Grant aid

Governor Robert Ray pledges a 60 percent rise in the Iowa Tuition Grant program for 1975 77, raising annual funding from 6 million to 9 6 million and increasing the maximum grant from 1000 to 7200. The proposal would expand aid to more Cornell University students in Mount Vernon and others statewide.

New Room Draw Procedure Proposed for Spring 1975 at Cornell

A proposal outlining a mandatory open room draw with class-based seniority was submitted to the Student Affairs Governing Board. The plan, developed by a Life Styles ad hoc committee led by Duane Sill and nine students since September, favors numbered draws and staged roommate formation to improve fairness and inter dorm flexibility while addressing past problems such as cheating and unequal singles distribution.
