Four Freshmen to Appear In Monday Night Chapel

The Four Freshmen will appear in King Memorial Chapel Monday Feb 23 at 8 00 p m The group formed at Arthur Jordan Conservatory Indianapolis in 1948 and became known for a four voice sound with a barber shop flavor They have charted singles Day By Day Graduation Day Julie Is Her Name and hosted TV appearances and college and ballroom concerts Bob Flanigan Don Barbour Ross Barbour and Ken Albers comprise the group which has won multiple polls including Metronome Downbeat Billboard United Press and Playboy.

CSF Canvas For Hearth Fund Sunday

Cornell students join nationwide Heart Sunday on February 22 in Mt. Vernon for Heart Fund contributions. Sixty to seventy CSF volunteers are needed as Judy Warren announced. Wayne McKenna from the Heart Association will visit campus for the canvas. Participants meet at Bowman Hall at 1 45 p m Sunday. Dr T Edwin Rogers biology head has received grants from Heart Fund donations.

Social Center Sets Up Student Travel File

The Special Service committee of the Social Center has established a travel file for students. It is available at the Social Director Mrs. Tompkins's office and contains bus and train timetables and travel information. Airline timetables and related data will be added.

AWS Stag Party for Women at Cornell Center

Cornell women will attend an AWS Stag Party at the Social Center on Wednesday February 25 starting 8 30 p m. Entry is restricted to women from 8 30 to 9 45 p m with lounge hi fi TV grill and lower area open to all women. Activities include pool tournaments bridge and card games. Attendees must sign out in campus activities and return to dorms by 11 p m.

What is Jazz Set for Sunday by Baltzell Trio

A trio led by sophomore Jim Baltzell performs Sunday at 3 30 p m in the Social Center lounge to answer what is jazz The program combines a lecture with music and aims to define jazz in plain terms and explain the differences among forms in an informal atmosphere with Dick Bird on bass and Bob Thomas on drums.
