The Tulls convert their second floor den into an upstairs sitting room dubbed the US.S.R. to honor Russians, conserve fuel, and host wartime entertainment. Friends donate a pulp thriller, art, and a dog portrait, while Lt. Jane Courson adds a literary touch and visitors exchange witty remarks and drawings.
