Aesthesians Hold Initiation Ceremony at MacLeod House

Miss Belva Oshell of Orient Iowa was initiated into the Aesthesian Society during a Saturday night program at the MacLeod House. The event featured solos and readings followed by a pledge, pin and roses, seniors receiving rings, and a decorative ice cream service.

Pep Club Welcomes Roy Walker to Full Membership

At Tuesday night’s meeting Roy Walker was graded into full Pep Club membership following the withdrawal of Raymond Harrington. Walker will begin his duties immediately after formal initiation. Wednesday noon the club had its annual group photo taken in white sweaters. Bruce Armstrong of 1913 is expected in town for a short visit.

Iowa City Baseball Schedule for Coming Spring

Athletic directors in Iowa City announced a twelve game baseball schedule for the coming spring with half at home. Grinnell opens April 28 at Mt. Vernon, then a rapid May run culminating May 29 with Ames at Mt. Vernon. The schedule includes games against Simpson, Iowa, Coe, Leander Clark, and Ames in various locations. Professor Wilson of Iowa State University spoke to the Fortnightly Club on German studies and literature.

Cornell Downs Grinnell In Surprising Basketball Clash

Grinnell arrived confident as the state’s top team but Cornell’s shake‑up paid off. Terrall controlled the pivot, Hinkley’s guard work capped Grinnell’s shots, and Edwards Bergen and Geer anchored a sharp defense. The Purple and White pulled off a thrilling win despite injuries to Grinnell’s guards and a slower pace.
