In 1934 Nick Mouratides entered Athens College and faced a growing Metaxas dictatorship and Nazi influence. By 1937 the regime tightened its grip as Greek students, led by Nick and fellow liberals, formed a resistance with support from Greek and American teachers.

The new Student Union building will move from the Sioux City Air Base to the Cornell campus, located north of the O J Cullumber residence and east of the Arlo Sanderson residence on the west side. The T shaped structure measures 110 by 25 feet with a 25 by 40 foot rear extension, housing a dance hall lounge and offices in the main section and a lunch room in the extension. A contract for dismantling moving and erection will be let before February 28. A Cedar Rapids contractor is favored for quicker completion, and site grading awaits frost removal.
