The Men’s Senate publishes its first semester judiciary records. Case 1 heard Nov 30 1966 involved possession of stolen goods and field house weights with a $50 fine, 15 hours work, and $15 suspended. Case 2 found explosives in the defendant’s room with $50 fine and 10 hours work. Case 3 concerns a downtown doormat with a $50 fine and 15 hours work, $35 suspended.
Campus Chest Drive at Cornell sponsors 48 children in Kimhae Sangrak Won Home Korea. The facility, founded in 1960 for children of leprosy patients, keeps them from contact with parents. Each child needs seven dollars monthly for schooling and basic needs. doctors seek medical supplies as funds run low.
The AWS Board will debate a motion from the Women's Hours Committee to change key privileges for women students. Senior and 21 year olds would have unlimited use, juniors 15 times per semester, sophomores 7 to 4 uses by class, with freshmen unchanged. Additional measures include sealed destination envelopes for non seniors, activity-card tracking, parental approval, and liability for lock replacement. The plan cites 93 percent campus dissatisfaction with current hours.
Howard Bowen president of the University of Iowa will address the audience February 16 at 10 a.m. in the Field House. He will discuss technological change and its impact on the economy, drawing on his book Automation and Economic Progress and his work heading the National Commission on Technology Automation and Economic Progress.
Marty Malin, editor, announces the call for editor applicants for the 1967 68 academic year. The chosen editor will undergo a one month training starting with the next issue, with no prior experience required and a stipend of three quarters board plus a small bonus. Apply by 4 p.m. Friday February 17 at the Cornellian office.
