War department notice to Mr. and Mrs. Arlo Sanderson confirms Lt. Robert Sanderson was killed in action in Italy on January 20. The 22 year old Cornell junior and B-24 bomber pilot with the 15th Air Force trained at multiple bases before earning his wings at Blackland Army Airfield.
