Henderson Painting Wins Art Contest
Philip Henderson assistant in the art department won the 60 dollar Robert Rice Jenkins Memorial prize at a Chicago Art Institute contest. The winning work Comiskey Park depicted the ball park from the press box after a summer afternoon observation. The competition was open to Chicago artists and those nearby.

May Festival Dates Moved Up One Week
The Cornell May Music festival dates moved earlier to May 6 to 8 due to complications. Auditions sponsored by the Cornell conservatory shift to May 14 and 15. The festival honors the hundredth concert by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under Dr Frederick Stock with John Charles Thomas, Metropolitan Opera baritone, as guest soloist.

Cornell Students Rally for Flood Victims Aid
Cornell's Torch society collected and delivered cast-off clothing to the local Red Cross unit Saturday morning to help flood sufferers. Guild and Altoona halls led in contributions as the first campus effort to aid victims.
