Teacher Writer Traveler Becomes New Cornell Dean
Dean Howard W. Troyer is named dean of the college at Cornell. A thirty year academic veteran, he spent 25 years at Lawrence College and served as English professor, consultant to OSRD, organizer of the Midwest Colleges Faculty Conference, and a Fulbright lecturer to Berlin. He traveled Europe with his family and admired Yugoslavia’s bookstores. His published works include Five Travel Scripts Ned Ward of Grub Street and The Salt and the Savor.

Brubeck Concert Planned for Cornell Campus
The Cornell Student Council announces a Friday April 12 concert by Dave Brubeck and his progressive jazz group with reserved seating and free tickets for Cornell students. Also set are the Sweetheart Swirl event on February 16 and men’s pledging, with park planning drawings due by February 23 offering a $5 prize for an accepted sketch.
