Good Hope College Play Directed by Senior Virginia Browning
The Little Theatre presents Goodby My Fancy in a dorm living room setting at Good Hope College for women Good Hope Massachusetts. Senior Virginia Browning directs the comedy with Agatha Reed played by Mardel Herzberg returning for an honorary degree and romance with Dr James Merrill, played by Robert Bentley. A documentary film about wartime horrors and a lively supporting cast, including Dick Boulware Neema Ritter and Judy Barrett, enrich the humor as tickets are available at the Financial Office Main Hall.

President Russell D. Cole announced the appointment of Dr Frances A Ritchey as assistant professor of biology to fill the sabbatical absence of Dr Frank Brooks. Born in Northfield Minnesota she holds A B from Drake A M from Chicago and Ph D from Iowa and has taught at Iowa State University. She is Phi Beta Kappa and listed in Who's Who.

The registrar lists exactly 600 students attending this semester. Regular students total 592 and eight special students. Women outnumber men 307 to 293. Freshmen total 243 with 116 men and 127 women. Sophomores 160 with 72 men and 88 women. Seniors 107 with 54 men and 43 women. Juniors 82 with 50 men and 32 women. Among special students, one is male and seven are female.

Alumnus Donates Refrigerator to Cornell Alumni HQ
Ernie Wright an alumnus class of 1929 donated a new 7 foot Bendix refrigerator to Cornell's Alumni headquarters after learning of the kitchen need during a campus visit. Wright, now with an Freeport Illinois insurance agency, arranged delivery the same day. His son John Wright is in his final college term.

Mary Parsons Former Cornell Librarian Dies After Long Illness
Mary Louise Parsons, assistant librarian at Cornell College since 1922, died at St Luke's Hospital after a months long illness. A memorial service was held Jan 22. Parsons, born Aug 10, 1881, earlier taught in Maquoketa and Marshalltown and worked with Redpath Chautauqua.

Auditions for music scholarships will be held on campus Saturday February 27. First prizes total 200 dollars and second prizes 100 dollars for voice piano organ orchestra and band instruments. The fourth annual Cornell Music clinic is scheduled for March 13 with staff available to assist soloists and ensembles for Iowa high school music contests later in March.
