Adelphian Banquet Initiates New Members At Formal Feast

Adelphians and guests gathered at the Adelphian Society Hall for initiation ceremonies led by McMahill Hill and Jargo with Ruth Power at the piano. The Milonian Hall banquet followed with a purple and gold menu, a Delphus orchestra, and toasts by Wendell McMahill. Owen Lovett opened an Adelphian publication titled Editorial welcoming new members.

Adelphi and Amphictyon Debating Teams Prepare for March Final

Adelphians will nominate their debate team next Monday evening and submit their question before Christmas vacation. Amphictyons have chosen a team of Henry Carlton Willard Clinton and Earl Gammons. Both societies expect a strong final, with Adelphi benefiting from past victories and favorable debate material.

Yesterday morning the Glee Club showcased grey hats with a purple C front as a new fashion. Oscar Allanson opened with Ads, Lenora Reichman performed Personal, Arthur Baird spoke on Sports, and Earl Denio closed with Pungent humor. Cornell Lantern Slide Service expands geology teaching

Cornell University’s Geology Extension Bureau, led by Professor Norton, collects over four thousand lantern slides showcasing land forms and geological themes. The service distributes sets of fifty slides with manuals, covering topics from weathering and glaciers to volcanoes and prehistoric life, used by colleges and schools nationwide.

Tonight at 7 30 the Aesthesians host a leap year joint with Amphictyon brothers. Names drawn by hat pair partners for the calling stunt and a Christmas party with small gifts and true Christmas spirit. Faculty will enforce Cornell etiquette. Each Amphictyon excited for the evening.

Students Animate Endowment Plans at Two Colleges

Coe College closed its endowment drive at 650000 as students in Cedar Rapids led mass meetings and marched through the streets aided by the college band. Parsons College raised 5100 toward a 325000 goal in a large mass meeting, equating to 34 per capita from 150 students.

Freshmen and juniors explore early basketball season as openers highlight erratic shooting and superior floorwork.

Campbell Stars Class Basketball Opens With Juniors and Freshmen Victories

In the first Class basketball games yesterday the Juniors defeated the Seniors 17 to 5 and the Freshmen beat the Sophomores 15 to 8. Superior team passing and solid floorwork gave the Juniors an edge, while the Seniors relied too much on individual play. The Ortmeyer brothers led the Seniors scorers, and Carhart contributed eight points for the Juniors. The Freshmen showed the strongest play overall, with Terall scoring six of eight for the Sophomores and Campbell praised as the best on the floor. Substitutions and lineups are listed for each team.
