Glee Club Concert at Y Joint Meet

The Young Men's and Women's Christian Associations await a Christmas concert by the Women's Glee Club next Wednesday at 6 40 PM in the chapel auditorium. Miss Rigby will speak on Carols before the program, which features an unusual carol collection and proceeds from a silver offering go to the Y associations.

Cornell co eds under the W S G A plan original parties before the holiday recess. Each girls house hosts a distinct program with hobo hard time carnival and semi formal themes. Men from neighboring houses were invited and many attended, making the evening one of the year's social highlights.

Cornell Listening In On Radio Program

Beginning at 7 30 next Tuesday evening a full Cornell talent radio show will be broadcast from WHAA at the University of Iowa. Prizes for distance listening and a non Cornellian prize are five pound boxes of candy. Receivers in Mt Vernon will be set up and equipment may be installed in Bowman or Altoona.

Updegraff Hosts Gridiron Men Dinner Tonight

President Updegraff entertains gridiron men with a dinner at the president's home as the climax of a series of feeds honoring Cornell's undefeated team. Knox hosted the dinner at the Grill where the next season captain was elected. Rotary and Lions clubs also gave dinners with entertainment at Kohl's Cafe on Wednesday night.

Sixteen Cornell football players win varsity letters

Sixteen members of the undefeated Cornell football team were awarded letters by the Athletic Board. Captain Hank Hartwell and 15 teammates receive C s for their services. Frank Court earned a letter as team manager. Hartwell is the only three letter man.

Ames Game First On Cage Schedule

Coach Saalwaechter leads Ames through long workouts as they prepare for the season opener next Thursday at home against State College. December Husk on Sale Early Next Week by Cornell Writers

The Husk, a magazine from the English Club featuring Cornell authors, releases its December issue soon. It includes two short stories It Never Rains by Annabel Lee Sailor and For Value Received by Katharyn Wright, plus poems by Gertrude Herrick Ora Mohn and The Cynical Co-ed and a tabloid review section with briefs by Mills Woodford and Winifred Mayne. Jewell Bothwell Tull provides December as frontispiece. The Husk remains lively and attractive.

Journalism Classes Take On Cedar Rapids Sunday Edition

Cornell journalism students under Mr. McConnell will manage news writing and editing for a Cedar Rapids Republican Sunday edition. City editor Don Van Metre and police reporter Mr. Gneier spoke at a dinner for the Press Club, outlining editor duties and police reporting experiences.

Oratorio Society Presents The Messiah Sunday

Final rehearsals set for Friday and Saturday with the performance at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel auditorium. Cornell audiences will hear the Messiah for the twentieth time with Helen Mueller substituting for Edna Swanson Ver Haar as contralto. New choruses include His Voice Is Easy Behold the Lamb of God and Lift Up Your Heads.

Sophomore Lead in Royal Purple Subscription Race

Sophomores top the Royal Purple drive with 78 percent of their class subscribed for the college annual. Juniors 75 percent, seniors 65 percent, and freshmen 65 percent at noon. Subscriptions after this hour may not count. The book team names will be announced when the publication appears. Artwork and photography for the book near completion. Students of the Expression department will present The Life of Christ during Sunday school opening exercises.
