Untried Cornell to meet Iowa State Teachers in opener
An untried Cornell basketball team will open the season against Iowa State Teachers at Alumni Gym next Friday. Coach Judd Dean is testing sophomores and lettermen to fill three vacancies while aiming for a faster, snappier squad than last year. Captain Dell Raymond and Wallace McCullen are vets. Bloom arrives next semester.

Mother of Former Cornell Teacher Killed in France
Miss Lydie Cogblin 28 reports her mother, age 64, was killed in an automobile accident in Nevers France. The victim, walking in her hometown, was struck by a speeding car driven by a wealthy farmer. She died the next day from injuries.
