The Junior annual is at a standstill as past officers relied on men. This fall a girl staff led by editor Gladys Hipple and assistant editor Thelma Lull kept the work going. Boys may return after training camps end and reclaim their former posts.

Christmas Music Glee Club Plans Holiday Concert

The Girls' Glee Club of thirty voices under Prof. Shaw will present a varied Christmas program of carols and lullabys with solos by Mrs. Shaw Miss Cline and Mr. Conrad. The Oratorio Society will reform at the start of the second term and the annual May Festival is anticipated. Meet the season in the Society Halls Friday night.

Miss Mary L. MacLeod, former Dean of Women at Cornell, attends a conference of War Camp Community Service secretaries in Washington. The organization, linked to the Allied War Drive, aims to organize youth social life and already has a twelve million dollar endowment for permanence.

Cornell Freshman James Opperman Dies After Short Illness

Cornell freshman James Murray Opperman died Monday evening after a brief illness caused by a hidin glabscess. He was the son of Mr and Mrs H H Opperman who moved to Mt Vernon this year a sister works at Cornell High School. A funeral service was held at the family home yesterday afternoon at 2 30 and interment followed at Strawberry Point Iowa.

Sunday Vespers Delight College and Town Crowd

A Sunday afternoon vesper service drew a large crowd of college students and town residents. Miss Cline and Mr. Conrad offered popular musical selections including three negro melodies and a duo. Miss Baker read Sally Ann and The Man in the Shadow, eliciting praise for pathos and lesson.

Girls Sweep Spelling Test with Perfect Scores

The annual spelling test produced thirty girls with perfect 100s while the top male grade was 99. Ruth Forrest, a junior in physics, declined a paid assistant position at the Illinois Woman's College to continue her work here. Secrecy of Program Mixes Friday Night Event

The W S G A and Y W C A plan a term ending program in the Main building with four society halls decked for a festivity. The four seasons will compete for attendees’ favor as students from Y W C A S G A and SAT C are invited to attend Friday night.

Demobilization Date Uncertain for S A T C Members

The S A T C has not disbanded though demonstrations continue. Final examinations are planned for the latter part of next week, implying demobilization as students head to vacation. If sooner, men may stay until the 21st to finish the term.

Post Exchange Booklets Proposed For S A T C Members

A Financial Board discussion on investing Post Exchange profits led Captain Tooze to propose a souvenir booklet. The booklet would list every officer and enlisted man in the S A T C unit with photos and addresses to serve as a record for future reference. It may be kept within the company rather than sold publicly.

Jack Jargo and Don Reynolds shared a friendly time at a football game at Camp Pike. Reynolds wed Adele Rogers of Union on July 3. she is a former Cornellian. True Arbingast Mason visits her husband Wallace Mason at Camp Pike where Mason serves as federal milk inspector.
