Panel Discusses African Problems and Solutions
A five member panel of African graduate students and visiting teachers in the Palisades Room criticized U S foreign aid policies toward Africa and urged self reliance. They urged scholarships to train Africans in the United States and emphasized using Africa s own resources to reduce aid dependence. They also questioned Peace Corps use and noted difficulties in African unity and cross border hiring to fill labor shortages.

World Campus Afloat voyage links learning and travel
World Campus Afloat operated by Chapman's Division of International Education sends 500 students and 70 staff from New York aboard the RY DAM for a semester at sea visiting Europe Africa and South America. The voyage ends January 29 in Los Angeles with a spring voyage to depart February 3 from Los Angeles looping through the Orient India and Africa to New York on May 27.

SAGE Tobacco and Alcohol Debate Shapes Campus Policy

Thanks Giving Happenings at RLC Engage 75 Students
At RLC on Nov 24 and 8 30 p.m. seventy five students entered the Alumni Gym through a maze of junk yard objects and black plastic. They gave thanks by saying thank you while exchanging junk and creating statues from tires oil cans and boxes. The event ended with a large circle dance and the gym emptied of junk. Craig Willer noted the aim to offer meaningful worship and togetherness for one generation.

AWS Proposals Pass With Key Deposit and Fine Changes
At the December 2 meeting of the Student Affairs Governing Board the AWS handbook revisions proposal passed with amendments. A $1.00 deposit is charged each semester and a $35.00 lost key bill is sent to the dorm, subject to House Council determination of payment. The AWS board sponsors a Christmas Dinner on December 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Commons with sign up for hosts starting December 6. Career Day is set for February 27 featuring a keynote and three sessions with 15 professions represented, aiding women students in career options.
