Cornell plans the Commons opening for Sunday January 2 as Arland Christ-Janer says the building will be ready on schedule. The design by Harry Weese and Associates features a fragmented style with many straight lines few. Activities include free refreshments dining, floor plans for students, pool and ping pong, folk singing, classical music and wall to wall music. Faculty and staff reception runs 3 to 11 with buffet dinner 5 to 8.
