Seven gold stars honor seven Cornellians who died serving the country and five red stars mark those missing or prisoners. The Chapel service flag shows 746 Cornell alumni in uniform. 125 are abroad. A.W.S. and C.C.A. plan to send about 150 copies of The Cornellian weekly to Cornellians in service. Each man receives the paper every fourth or fifth week, with Doris Jean Baldwin overseeing files and dispatches. A committee including Timmie Hynes Betty Donnan Sue Swift Mickey Ortmeyer Anita Mummert Mickey Hauck Esther Sumner Norma Kracht Jean Luce and Lois Kaylor supports the effort.

Guest Artists Set for Cornell Messiah by Oratorio Society
Two visiting soloists Florence Manning and William Miller join Ruth Pinkerton and Francis German for Cornell’s 39th annual Messiah performance by the Oratorio Society and Cornell Symphony Orchestra on Sunday December 12. Manning is a New York soprano with a record on radio and with major societies. Miller is a seasoned tenor with a strong Chicago presence.

In a yearly program freshmen editors will run the Cornellian with editors and staff chosen by the freshmen. The edition will be produced by the freshmen from news gathering to proofs with help from Charles Dickey and Gloria Sorensen. A meeting is set for next Wednesday at 4 30 in the Cornellian office Main Hall basement opposite the book store.
