Beginners' Luck chapbook set for Thursday release

The largest edition in the series by the English Club, Beginners' Luck number thirteen, will be released midweek. It includes three first‑prize short stories by high school writers from Illinois Missouri Minnesota and a set of color and black and white drawings by Anya Plummer. The forty eight page volume is handset by Corneli students and bound by the same crew. Copies, 25 cents, available at the English office Thursday.

Potential Forty Threes To Compete In Music Auditions

Cornell will hold its annual music auditions on Saturday April 22 to award scholarships for the class of 1948. Eight thirty a.m. start covers piano voice in the chapel and other instruments in the Fine Arts harmony room. A 48 contestant field includes piano strings woodwinds brass and organ with an orchestra concert Friday night and a reception afterward in Armstrong Hall. The event is the largest auditions contest yet at Correll with many Illinois entrants.
