Cornell Musicians Tour Iowa and Illinois Clubs

The Cornell instrumental group toured Iowa and Illinois from March 20 to early Tuesday, covering six hundred miles by rail and clearing expenses with about one hundred dollars in Uncle Sam’s funds. They played ten towns, including Blains town Tama Clemons Grove Belmond Britt Humboldt Rolfe, delivering concerts, vaudeville bits, and a 47 to 18 basketball win against local players, while dining with hosts and enjoying Epworth league gatherings.

Freshmen Claim Class Basketball Title in School Series

The Freshmen defeated the Juniors to win the class basketball title four games to none. Bob Smyth led the Freshmen with strong play as Smyth and West starred for the Juniors. the final score 29 to 9. Seniors forfeited their planned game with the Academy, which then showcased a good exhibition by the younger players.

Collins Coach of Baseball Builds Fresh Candidate Pool

Five pitchers have reported with four others on standby as Collins, last year Fort Dodge manager, takes over as coach. Baseball practice began with sixteen candidates.
